KOWHAI CLOSE OLIVE GROVE

Kowhai Close Olive Grove is situated on the Western coast of Waiheke Island in Church Bay Estate.
The first lot of olive trees were planted in 1996 followed by a further planting of other varieties in the course of a five year period.
The first picking in 2001 was a mere 75kg of olives since then the yield has steadily increased to 3 tonnes for the 2006 harvest.
The soil and the microclimatic where Kowhai Close Olive Grove is situated, has proved an ideal environment, together with the particular care taken with nurturing the olive trees.
The table olives that are processed at Kowhai Close are of excellent quality and retain their authentic olive taste as no chemicals or additives are used in the curing process.
